On April 20th, 2023, Lil Anglers, LLC voluntarily initiated a safety recall of select children’s fishing rods in cooperation with the CPSC and Health Canada due to a violation of the federal lead content ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.
The products affected by this safety recall were manufactured between 2021 and March 2023 and were sold at various retailers and online at Amazon and Lil Anglers. The recall affects approximately 80,708 units, including units sold in the United States and Canada.
Please immediately stop using the affected products and contact Lil Anglers to arrange for a replacement or refund. The Model Number is located on the bottom of the rod, near the handle. The lot code is located on the base of the rod on the bottom when oriented for use for all models. If the fishing rod is one of the above-listed lots, then it is part of the recall.

8) How did this occur?
Lead can be a natural part of the mining process. We require testing to ensure it qualifies for children’s product. There was a lapse in the process, and we are taking responsibility. We are adjusting our process to prevent it from happening again.
